Posts Tagged ‘Tibet’

Apropos to my last post “Walk the Talk”, I had urged all Prudent Indians, in and around Delhi then on that day, to come and support the ‘Parallel Run’. Well, besides the ‘rightfully’ protesting Tibetans there were hundreds of other Prudent Indians too; who ran with them.

You’re truly too ‘ran’ in support of Tibet along with many more Prudent Indians.

I ran for Tibet, in support of Tibetans and against the atrocities being committed by the Communist Party of China on Tibetans.

I ran because, it was my belief in their cause.

On the other hand, the security overkill witnessed at Rajpath was disgustingly shameful. It is no body’s case to argue against the security of torch. But if, you too observed what I did, that is when Olympic torch arrived from Pakistan the Chinese Ambassador and IOC President Suresh Kalmadi went to receive it, the Chinese Ambassador did not allow Kalmadi to hold it on his own! Not even for a fraction of second; Chinese Ambassador took his hands off the torch! It implies that Chinese did not trust Suresh Kalmadi even!

I stick my neck out and challenge both IOC in India and Suresh Kalmadi as its president to show me one frame of the live video footage shown over TV, where he held the torch all by himself upon its arrival from Islamabad!

What? You call that a ‘Pride’!?

Well in my previous post had lamented about Ayan Ali taking part, I am glad and take this opportunity to thank him for making the right decision. He too refused to run with ‘China’s Torture Torch’, so did Jaspal Rana. Kudos!

For argument sake, I can understand the sports men/ women ex or present running with torch, but what the heck are Film personalities or Politicians tom tomming about, is beyond me.

As for Amir and Saif, my daughters asked me about my ‘vehement’ opposition to Amir alone when both Amir and Saif are film celebrities and both are Muslims too and both ran with Olympic Torch more for there ‘Sponsors’ Coco Cola and Lenova respectively, than for their any known love for sports!

I answered them…

- So is Ayan Ali too a Muslim and not associated with sports but he made a prudent decision. (My reference to their being Muslim is strictly restricted here to the context as mentioned by Mr. B Raman)

- Though Saif too is a Muslim and a film celebrity but he never made any lofty claims about having ‘prayer in heart’ types, like Amir made. Did he? Show me any. A fine actor as Amir indeed is, his selective pangs of ‘self righteousness’ is his biggest un doing. So my opposition to his was running with ‘Chinese Torture Torch’.

Democracy is not only about elections, it is about participation. ‘Protest’ is a legitimate instrument and I ran to lodge my protest against the abject surrender of this present Government to the powers whose loyalties are ‘unquestionably questionable’.

Walk The Talk?

And this is precisely what I am going to do. I am going to run with Tibetans in a parallel relay run from ‘Samta Sathal’ to ‘Jantar Mantar’ tomorrow, exactly at the same hours when this ‘Olympic Torch’ is ‘alleged’ to have a run.

I said, “Alleged to have a run”, pray, tell me what the purpose of running with it is, unless you are paid for that or are politically correct! For sportsmen and women, well they have a right to carry the torch and rightly so, but for the sons of a ‘musician’? Ayan? Why? Hold your breath. He is a Muslim (reason no 1), is sponsored by ‘Samsung’ (reason no 2)

An Amir too, may have reasons to explain, as he is asked of course here, to run but the fact is he gets money a-la-a Coca Cola ‘It is the Right time Baby Aha!’ to make some few bucks more? Aha!

Well! Every one has priorities; some of us too have…

Kiran Bedi, she refused to run…

Bhaichung Bhutia, he refused to run…

Sachin Tendulkar, he too has refused to run…

Soha Ali Khan, has refused to run…

Ace Boxer Dharmendra Singh, an Olympic hopefull

too has decided not to run with the torch

And yours truly had already made it known for what I stand for.

I too am ‘sponsored’ of course, but that is my conscience and my word of honor.

I know, some of few who will be running along are, like our Arundhiti and some political leaders, I have been very vocally against about, have an eye on some ‘public exposure’, but, still that takes nothing away from them either. At least they have made a choice, and correctly too, this time at least.

My belief in that ‘Monks’ can not be violent is reconfirmed by the Pic I posted above. These were Chinese army in ‘Monks Cloths’ (Wolves in Sheep’s  disguise), Chinese state controlled media showed

as rioting monks. A pic say thousand words, lenses do not lie friends, they just do not.

Not alone me but ‘Hundreds’ of ‘Prudent Indians’ will be running along the parallel torch relay, this time.

I exhort all other PIs who read me now and stay in Delhi and near by, to join us.

Prudent Indian.

Carrying the torch for The Blood-Stained Olympics is no matter of pride. Or is it? Mr. B Raman needs no introduction and his open letter to Mr. Amir Khan is an ‘eye opining’ one. I am posting some snippets for an easy read, but I strongly recommend to all; to read the full article, link given above.

Mr Amir says, in favor of his decision to carry the torch, “I request those of you who have asked me to stay away from the Olympic Torch Relay to understand that when I do run with the torch on the 17th of April it is not in support of China. In fact it will be with a prayer in my heart for the people of Tibet, and indeed for all people across the world who are victims of human rights violations.”

Mr Raman clear in his understanding of the real backdrop argues, forcefully, “The question is not what you think and said about your participation. The question is how your participation is projected by Beijing to the suppressed Buddhists of Tibet and Uighur Muslims of Xinjiang, who have risen in revolt against what they consider as the Han colonisation of their respective homeland and what His Holiness the Dalai Lama has described as a cultural genocide of the Tibetans.”

Mr. Raman sees through the intention of Chinese Communist Government and explains why China had chosen Bhaichung , Amir and Saif. Here it is how he explains, Wherever the Olympic Torch is being taken, the Chinese have been keen that some prominent Muslim and Buddhist personalities also participate in carrying the torch so that they can demonstrate to the protesting Buddhists of Tibet, Sichuan, Gansu and Qinghai and to the protesting Muslims of Xinjiang that prominent Buddhist and Muslim leaders in other countries have endorsed the Games.”

Why Saif and Amir ? Mr. Raman says, “The importance of your participation and of the participation of Shri Saif Khan to the Chinese was not only because you are both widely-admired film artists. It was also because both of you are widely-respected Muslim personalities.”

As your truly had supported and applauded the decision of Bhaichung, Mr Ramans arguments vindicate my stand, here , The importance of the participation of Shri Baichung Bhutia, our football hero, to the Chinese was not only because he is a football hero, but also because he is a highly-respected Buddhist personality. He saw through their game and declined to let himself be used by the Chinese to serve their psychological warfare agenda in Tibet, Sichuan, Gansu and Qinghai. One hopes he does not change his mind under pressure from our communists. It is a pity you have not seen through their game.”

Mr. B Raman has worked all his life in the highest echelons of power and his understanding of international affairs is beyond reproach. Mr B Raman advises Amir and in fact urges him earnestly not to carry the torch because, in Mr. Raman’s words,The Beijing Olympics has already become a blood-stained Olympics. The Chinese are frantically trying to remove those blood stains. We should not help them in their efforts to do so. By lending your name and prestige to the Torch run, you are unwittingly helping the Chinese to cover up the blood stains.”

Mr. Amir Khan is a celebrated actor and has a fan following. It is equally true nevertheless; that he has been chosen to represent the ‘Coco Cola’ Company in the torch relay, and of course for a price.

Here is the report with the link. http://movies.indiatimes.com/articleshow/2896905.cms

Read the report please.

Now, Mr. Amir has a choice to make, he is a free man and mature too. He can either heed to Mr. B Raman’s sane advice OR to run with torch!

But then, would I not be ‘right’ to believe in that, Mr. Amir’s decision is influenced only because of his  commercial interest’!

Would I be wrong to assume Mr. Amir’s above said reasons for his decision,”… In fact it will be with a prayer in my heart for the people of Tibet,” are anything but sincere?

May better sense prevail, for him?

Prudent Indian.

Contrast the two reports reproduced below. One is the ace footballer ‘Bhaichung’ the captain of Indian football team, showing and expressing his ‘solidarity’ with the Tibetans, has right fully ‘lodged’ his protest against the atrocities being committed by The Chinese Government. This is some courage and really worthy of appreciation.

“Bhaichung refuses to join in Beijing” Olympic torch run

Contrast the above with this… here and you know which country our Communists are batting for! Communist Party of India CHINA (Marauders), have shed all inhabitations, their love for “Father Land” is for all to see.

“CPM GENERAL secretary Prakash Karat came out strongly in defence of China on the Tibet issue on Monday, saying India‘s position on Tibet being a part of the communist nation should not change. Karat said statements by Indian leaders against China are attempts to spoil relations between two-countries.”
