Mind The “FAMILY”.Kapil Sibal.

Kapil Sibal | Congress leader and Union Minister     The Congress has every right to exploit the Gandhi brand name because the family is linked organically with the history of Uttar Pradesh. Perhaps the brand is a little weak now. But, remember, even the Tatas had their bad days. The Congress party is perhaps the only party with a brand image in Uttar Pradesh…. (Undoubtedly branded of course but not seen-any where just like the obsolete Fiat car which we once used to pay in advance for and wait in a long Q to get that). … In fact, I am proud to state that no other political party can draw a parallel to our leaders. We have a rich history of our great leaders…. ( Agreed,but where are they?)

The Gandhi family has successfully kept the flag flying high… (So,the congress has usurped Mahatma Gandhi we all knew but what about,Subash Bose,Tilak,G.B.Pant,Madam Mohan Malviya and count less foot-soldiers,Leave alone the tallest and the bravest Sardar Patel.Sorry Mr.Sibal Oh! I have touched the raw nerve here.I should have known that  Congress never considered him a Congress men in any case!!!?). … I want to raise a question- Which other family in the country has made so many sacrifices ever since the freedom struggle? ( My counter question: Which other congress leader’s family have been allowed to flourish in the congress? Did Sarder Patel not have any children? Or Madan Mohan Ji or any other with the only exception of Shastri Ji and it’s really pathetic to see Mr.Anil Shastri (Son  of an Illustrious PM of India shamelessly singing paeans for Sonia Gandhi and her family.) I am certain that the others would be at a total loss as far as their contribution towards Independence is concerned.

The contribution of stalwarts such as Krishna Hathi Singh, Vijay Lakshmi Pandit, Motilal Nehru, his wife and Jawaharlal Nehru cannot be overlooked. Moreover we must remember that both Indira Gandhi and Rajiv laid their lives for the nation.  ( Mr.Sibal conveniently forgets that both the lives were lost not defending the nation against some “INVADING ARMIES”. Indira Gandhi created a ‘Frankenstein called Bhinderwala to teach Akalis some lesson and then this Frankenstein ‘consumed’ it’s creator and the nation had to pay for dearly with the Innocent lives of 3700 or more Sikhs,in what has been called as ‘RIOTS’ which was the worst ‘genocide’,even witnessed by me. As for Rajiv,again –just as little I could guess is – was a direct consequence of foreign policy blunder.) …Even Sanjay Gandhi lost his life while serving the country. (By the way just to re-freshen the memories of readers ,Sanjay died in an air crash at Safdar Jung airport while flying him self.As for his “Service” much has already been written.But personally I admired Sanjays .I still remember the day when I as a  kid then had accompanied by Uncle (then working as a journalist with Indian Express) had seen Sanjay cleaning the chaotic stairs encrouched by pavement shops of famous Jama Masjid,there were thousands of onlookers but not a whisper against him. But then again how was his widowed treated and has been treated till date,by the same illusterious family?! MR. Kapi Does she or Varun not share the same DNA and linage.How and why they have been excluded from the family?) …I fail to find another example of a political family that has done such a lot for the nation. At present Sonia Gandhi and son Rahul and daughter Priyanka are also facing a threat to their lives. But this has not deterred them from reaching out to the people…. (Even if for argument sake, I accept the above “family sacrifice” theory,then how do Sonia and Rahul and Priyanka fit in? Mr.Kapil Sibal is a known and ‘eminent’ lawyer and if I am correct he asks us to believe that since there were some great leaders in a family,so younger generations too will carry the same DNA.It is dangerous argument.Then going by Mr.Kapil’s own logic if  any one in a family murders a person then all his following generation will be murderers.I am not a lawyer just an ordinary Indian and to my average mind this is what Mr.Kapil is trying to say)

…In fact, even the people of the country are now realising that only the Gandhi family can alleviate their plight since the other non-Congress parties have a limited vision and are ridden on caste and communal lines. As far as the Congress coming to power in Uttar Pradesh is concerned, we must admit that all brands have their ups and downs. As one point of time, even the Tatas were not so popular. So one must never get bogged down.

You can just wait and watch out for the spectacular performance of the party once the results of the Vidhan Sabha elections are declared on May 11. All the doubts in the minds of our political rivals would be cleared when they find how the voters are yearning to bring the Congress back to power. ( The day isn’t far.And BTW all and any cay day dream.There is no law to stop one doing that.Atleast not yet.)

On the other hand, if you start talking of the BJP, what have the Advanis and Vajpayees done for the country? They have only divided the country on communal lines and spread hatred. Their brand is of the worst variety. A glimpse into the past reveals that the contributions of both Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. Rajiv Gandhi had a dream to fulfill, his special emphasis to science and technology has been commendable. Even today you can see how the specialised medical institutions set up by Sanjay Gandhi are catering to the people from every section of society.

Talking of family politics, why should our rivals level allegations against the Nehru-Gandhi family? Tell me what the people have to say about Mulayam Singh Yadav, whose son Akhilesh, brothers Ram Gopal Yadav and Shivpal Yadav are carrying forward his political legacy in Uttar Pradesh.

Also actor Amitabh Bachchan, wife Jaya and industrialist Amar Singh … ( Now,for a moment His diatribe against political leaders is fine and so be it Amar Singh and Jaya included,BUT why Amitabh,just because SONIA does not like him,so he too is to be blamed and dragged in.If supporting any political party is a sin,then please count your votes and accept them and hang all others who vote against CONGRESS…The Family) …are tagging along as family members of Mulayam Singh Yadav. Can anyone tell me what is their contribution towards the freedom movement or what they have done for the country other than spreading violence and riots? We can take the example of Prakash Singh Badal, Jayalalithaa, Chandrababu Naidu, Vasundhara Raje and Balasaheb Thackeray. After all, I want to ask, “What is wrong if a son takes his father’s profession?… ( Oh! Yes! Profession, of Course! This is what politics has been reduced to.So please next time on TV just do not sermon us with the lofty  ideals.Stick to your balance sheet and push your brand.)

…We have numerous examples in almost each and every field. So why single out the Congress? I feel the other parties are threatened by the brand image of the Gandhi family and hence all kinds of allegations.

The past history of Uttar Pradesh politics shows that the non-Congress governments in the state have come to power by creating a caste and communal divide. Here, I can say that success made by such regional outfits is only temporary. You can see how the shadow of Mandalisation swayed the country on caste lines…. (And the same man V.P. Singh who Un-leashed this caste war is singing paeans for Sonia.And what about the Arjun -Merit Slaughter-Singh in your Congress pushing reservations? Who all you accuse as castiest are there in UPA-I have no love lost for Mulyam neither I hold brief  for BJP or connected with RSS-what these getlemen,Laloo,Paswan and their ilk doing in there.) … The electorate has become more matured now, (Though I doubt,but I am hopeful.) as they have had a close look at the performance of these caste-based parties. Now they are returning to the Congress as they feel only the Gandhi’s are capable of solving their problems. You can see the number of scams and scandals during the regime of the other non-Congress governments. (WELL! WELL! Pot is calling the kettle black! Yes,I must accept that with all  the legal eagle and luminaries at hand Congress certainly  know better how to manage and cover the tracks and use/misuse or abuse the  institutions.)

…Instead of dwelling on caste, we are committed to solving the problems faced by the people such as sanitation, water, transport and power. The people in UP are victims of the poor law and order situation under Mulayam Singh Yadav’s rule, where you have daylight murders and dacoities. The criminals are freely roaming the roads and lawlessness is at its height. Even the BSP government had encouraged casteism, so the only alternative before the people is the Congress and the Gandhi family.

I am asking you some questions Shri Kapil Ji and all other Congressmen/Women/Babas and Babes which are of course uncomfortable,just as they come to my “communal” mind. BUT Please do not send me a legal notice since I dare questioned.I am too ‘humbled’ an Indian.

Anyway,shall cross the bridge when comes to it.If I have too.
