Yester morning I spent an hour watching this. And I am not wiser, yet. What is it all about?
Well! Match Fixing?
Yet again!
A West Indian player is caught ‘ostensibly’ leaking out the information to an ‘alleged’ bookie and… lo and behold the whole ‘media’ goes all out crying foul, as if sky has fallen! Day in day out each and every channel is churning out analysis after analysis; some indeed very funny with graphics too.
It sucks man… Pray tell me what is so great/grievous…?
Agreed Priyo Da calls and want us to believe that it is ‘patriotic’ to watch cricket and equally true is the fact that this Nation of billion people have forgotten the ‘Real Heroes’ and run after these ‘cricketers’, yet I fail to understand how are the cricketers any different from any other ‘entertainers’ say like Salman, Shahrukh, Abhishek or Ritihk?
Let us understand ‘Cricket’ is a sport no more, it is an industry worth millions of Rupees. It is a ‘GAME’ now and no longer a ‘SPORT’ it used to be. As they say, “it is fair in love and war-nay-game”, so be it.
I watch ‘Cricket’, whenever I do, to relieve self from some ‘grueling’ routine I follow. I see nothing patriotic to watch or unpatriotic to miss. Period.
Much to the chagrin of Priya Ranjan Dass Munshi.
One thing I must say in ‘defense’ of cricketers, they are the ones who are constantly on the move and their ‘career span’ is much shorter than cine stars (who have an option to join Politics after retirement, another big big GAME), in this process if they try and make a mullah of bucks, what is there to complaint about? How do I/You know a match is/was fixed until it is over…yet we watch… with ‘eyes’ opened?
Having said this, I am of the opinion that even if this is a ‘game’ it ought to be honest and transparent.
Wishful thinking…. you say!
Here again the ‘Yaksh Question’ is, who are the administrators and what is their interest/accountability? Three ‘potential’ Prime Ministerial candidates, Sharad Pawar (NCP), Arun jaitely (BJP) and our darling Lallo Prasad (RJD) besides foot soldiers (Rajiv Shukala) of Sonia…oops Congress…oops again…. the party who freed us (?) From British and delivered to Vatican…
What did all this ‘gentlemen’ do for the game?
Except securing free passes, lunches and photo –ops? If you know and have guts, tell me how many had seen Diana Edulghi or know about Anjum Chopra?
Ever heard of Gopi Chand Phutela? Did any one of you write and ‘congratulated’ the Man for refusing to endorse a cold drink?
Any One who without exercising (his/her gray cells) recall Prakash Padukone?
Wasn’t there a Sd.Modi?
Where is Pragat Singh?
How is Manjeet Dua doing?
What happened to Kunj Rani?
Shiny Abraham, ever heard of her?
P.T.Usha, any news?
We live, breath and espouse Cricket. Right?
Let these Cricketers live their own lives. We (Prudent Indians) have many many more important things to do.
Prudent Indian

Ehatever your reasons…for me…it is simply not cricket.
Well said bro!
Our nation is ‘obssed’ with cricket and the real sportsmen/women are never bothered, sick as it is.
[...] wonder how many people know about Gopi Chan Phutala! Refer to my post Oh! Cricket, – see this too -I did raise some questions about other sports persons who have done India proud. [...]
[...] by the past record of Pakistanis love for cricket we must thanks God for that all Sri Lankan players are safe and back home. Safe: Yes; they survived [...]
